Hyderabad , Dec. 26

ZENSAR Technologies Ltd has announced plans to locate a disaster recovery centre at Hyderabad to support its global operations.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, the Chief Executive Officer of Zensar, Dr Ganesh Natarajan, and the Head of the recently set up Global Operations Centre at Hyderabad, Mr Vijay Saradhi, said that the company also planned an innovation technology solutions centre.

Dr Natarajan said that the company, which focuses on four key verticals, would like the Hyderabad centre to serve the financial services business. By the end of 2006, the company expects to locate about 400 people in Hyderabad, of whomabout 250 would come from its recent acquisition of OBT Global Inc, a specialised SAP solutions provider in Hyderabad.

Of the four business streams of Zensar — covering offshore development services for companies such as Cisco, Marks & Spencer, enterprise solutions, innovation technology solutions, and knowledge process outsourcing arm, the enterprise solutions has emerged as one of the fastest growing division. All through the company focus had been on providing applications on Oracle. "Post-merger with OBT, we expect to further grow the enterprise group," Dr Natarajan said.

From about 700 people now, that includes 150 in the content management, Zensar expects to grow to about 1,000 by the end of 2006.

Asked if they would prefer to set up a campus here, Dr Natarajan said, "We do believe that there is no need for campus now".
