Chennai , Dec. 20

PARAMOUNT Airways will start operating on the Chennai-Delhi sector, its first service out of Chennai, its new base. The fare on the sector is Rs 5,999.

Paramount was earlier based in Coimbatore and operated eight flights. The airline, which had earlier linked Kochi, has temporarily suspended its services on this sector because of operational reasons.

Paramount plans to start operating a 9 p.m. shuttle on the Chennai-Bangalore sector by January 2006. Mr M. Thiagarajan, Managing Director, Paramount Airways, said that the decision was taken to fly this route because of the heavy load factors.
