Japanese team visits Haldia dock

A JAPANESE delegation on maritime cooperation on Friday visited Haldia dock to examine, among other things, the arrangements for the maritime security at the dock.

The delegation was taken around the dock by Mr S. Ghosh, General Manager of the dock, and other officials.

The delegation has come at the invitation of the Society for Indian Ocean Studies. Its members, comprising representatives from the Japanese Government and the industry, will also interact with the Indian Navy, visit the Garden reach Shipbuilders & Engineers under the Ministry of Defence and some of the Japanese industrial units, particularly Mitsubishi Chemicals located at Haldia, according to Haldia dock sources.
