Outlook Bajaj Auto betting big on new Discover variant Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Dec. 16 RIDING on its recently launched 112-cc model in the Discover range, Bajaj Auto Ltd would like to take the lead in the mid-segment of the motorcycle market. Once the national rollout is completed, the company expected to sell 60,000 units of the Discover variant a month. "We are leading the entry level and premium segments of the market. We have launched the 112-cc model keeping in mind the needs of executive (mid) segment," Mr B.K. Senapati, Regional Manager (AP) of Bajaj Auto, said. Addressing a press conference at the launch of the new model here on Friday, he said the company targeted to sell 4,000-5,000 units in Andhra Pradesh. Priced at Rs 38,883 (ex-showroom across Andhra Pradesh), the bike would give a mileage of 101 kmpl (kilometres per litre) under standard conditions. Being manufactured at company's Akurdi plant, the bikes would be made available across all the dealerships by the month end.
