Mumbai , Dec. 13

ZENSAR Technologies has acquired a US company, OBT Global, as well as its offshore affiliate, OBT Global Pvt Ltd India, in an all-cash transaction for an undisclosed amount.

"This acquisition positions us well to expand into SAP, one of the fast growth segments of the industry," said Mr Harsh Goenka, Chairman of Zensar Technologies.

OBT is a profitable dual-shore SAP services provider with a track record of customer satisfaction in SAP implementation and support and SAP Help Desk services.

"OBT gets us firmly into the SAP services business and its excellent track record, partnership with the SAP organisation for key verticals such as pharmaceuticals and textiles and established presence in Hyderabad fit well into the goals of the company," said Mr Ganesh Natarajan, Global CEO of Zensar.

The company expects to have over a 1,000 people providing ERP services to global enterprises by the end of 2006. Currently, the SAP team of Zensar numbers 150.

Zensar has positioned itself to be a global player in four key areas — offshore development and support, application modernisation, Oracle ERP and BPO in 2005.
