Hyderabad , Dec. 8

THE Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has launched the marketing activity for the 1,000-acre Green Industrial Park (GIP) near Jadcherla, 70 km from here, in Mahboobnagar district.

The park, being taken up in association with the Andhra Pradesh Government, is aimed at promoting green business technologies by encouraging non-polluting companies to set up their bases.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr Jamshyd N. Godrej, Chairman of CII-Sohrabji Green Business Centre(CII-GBC), said a steering committee would be formed with the Government in identifying companies and formulating guidelines.

Located near the upcoming international airport at Shamshabad, the GIP sought to promote cleaner production methods, while ensuring resource efficiency in energy, materials, water and transportation.

Besides providing access to the services offered by the CII-GBC, the park would offer tax holidays, single-window clearances, speedy clearance of applications and un-interrupted quality power.

Dr J. Geeta Reddy, Minister for Tourism, and Major Industries, released a marketing brochure for GIP at the inaugural of two-day `Green Business Summit'.
