Strategy Kaya plans setting up more `Skin Zones' Ajita Shashidhar
Mumbai , Dec. 8 KAYA Skin Clinic is looking at driving more footfalls into its clinics through its Kaya Skin Zones. These are small kiosks, mostly located in malls, which not only have dermatologists imparting free counselling on skincare, but are also used as vehicles to drive sales at the clinics. Speaking to Business Line, Mr Rakesh Pandey, CEO, Kaya Skin Clinic, said that the company is planning to set up close to 70 Kaya Skin Zones in the next couple of years in all those cities where it has clinics. "The response from the first Kaya Skin Zone at the Inorbit Mall in Mumbai has been good and we will take it ahead." The company is also planning to set up 70 more clinics in the next two years, and will also be spreading its wings across West Asia. Kaya, which already has two clinics in Dubai, is shortly planning to foray into Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Egypt. The company, said Mr Pandey, would also begin to focus on hair care along with skin. "The focus would be on hair care and not styling. We would concentrate on services that would help improving hair health and hair growth," he said. The hair care services, which are currently available in Bangalore, will be shortly rolled out in other cities also. Also in the pipeline is a range of specialised hair care and anti-ageing skin care cosmetics, said Mr Pandey. The company is looking at leveraging its expertise in cosmetic dermatology by collaborating with medical colleges to organise internships in this field. "We are looking at enhancing the cosmetic dermatology platform, as there is a huge gap in that area." Mr Pandey said that he is expecting a turnover of Rs 40 crore this fiscal, vis-à-vis a Rs 20-crore turnover last fiscal.
