Mr. Ankur Bhatia, Executive Director , The Bird Group, unveils an array of IT solutions for the travel Industry in the Capital on Friday. - - Kamal Narang

New Delhi , Nov. 25

THE Bird Group plans to launch a new Web site that would enable passengers to book tickets on most domestic airlines at one place rather than go to the site of the individual airline, the Group Executive Director, Mr Ankur Bhatia, said here on Friday.

"We are coming up with an online portal that should be up and running during the first half of the next calendar year. The site will offer a variety of fares to the passenger, including the best possible deals that are available," Mr Bhatia said.

The launch of the new site is part of an announcement made by the Group for a portfolio of IT solutions it has on offer for the domestic travel and tourism industry.

The group has developed seven products that have been designed and conceptualised to suit the needs of the travel agencies, airlines and the end users. Bird is one of the largest domestic conglomerates in the travel and information technology arena. Among the products on offer are the Airline Inventory Reservation System (AIRS) for low-cost airlines and an IP-based network solution providing travel agents instant connectivity to the Amadeus host site in Germany.

The group is also in talks with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for setting up IT outsourcing needs across airports through its ARINC system.
