ORIENT Craft Ltd plans to develop an exclusive special economic zone (SEZ) for garment units in Andhra Pradesh.

The SEZ is likely to come up on a 300-acre plot with an estimated investment of Rs 2,000 crore.

"The SEZ will house up to 50 companies," Mr Sudhir Dhingra, Chairman and Managing Director of the company, told reporters on the sidelines of the CII conference on `Textiles forum - Emerging opportunities and the road ahead' here on Thursday.

Earlier, delivering the inaugural address, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, said the company was "welcome" to set up the SEZ.

He announced the company would be given 10 acres of land at Nacharam to set up a garment manufacturing unit.
