Assocham hails US move

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI: Assocham has welcomed the demonstration of the trade priorities the US has attached to India as a strategic economy by kick-starting the Indo-US Trade Policy Forum and setting a target to double bilateral trade to $40 billion by 2008.

"Since the US has such a trade forum mechanism only with the EU and China, we see India being equated with them in terms of US priorities," said Mr Anil K. Agarwal, Assocham President.
