Tourism Marketing - Promotions & Offers Now, thematic Indian weddings in Malaysia K.V. Kurmanath
Hyderabad , Nov. 13 MARRIAGES are made in heaven, it is said. But Tourism Malaysia says Indian parents can plan the marriages of their children in Malaysia and gift them wonderful moments they can relish for the rest of their lives. They can pick and chose from a range of thematic venues - an island, a forest or a golf course in Malaysia, Mr Joseph K. Jose, Marketing Manager of Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board, told Business Line. "Last year, a 250-member team from Maharashtra flew all the way to Malaysia to attend the wedding of a Jalgaon couple. This year, two marriages have already been performed," he said. Malaysia is home away from home for Indians. "The similarities in culture will play an important role. People can find pujaris from their religions. They can even find cooks to prepare different Indian cuisine," he said. Officials of Tourism Malaysia will act as facilitators. They will put the marriage parties onto professional wedding planners in Malaysia, who will handle all the marriage needs. People can discuss their ideas with the planners to prepare a package. The planners will also help in completing the legal formalities related to solemnising the marriages. "Tourism Malaysia can also organise cultural shows," said Mr Jose.
