Tally Solutions issues 4.5 lakh licences of VAT accounting software

TALLY Solutions Pvt Ltd, an accounting software company, has issued 4.5 lakh licences in the post-VAT (value-added tax) regime, according to Mr Vinay Manjeshwar, Vice-President, Marketing, Software and Services Group, Tally Solutions Pvt Ltd.

Addressing newspersons here on Thursday, Mr Manjeshwar said with Tally 7.2, one could determine user-defined VAT rates on products and generate VAT-compliant invoices. Tally has separate VAT formats for 20 States. In March, the company conducted over 800 VAT awareness and education seminars in the country, he said.

Announcing the business alliance with ICICI Lombard General Insurance to help insure small and medium business enterprises, he said Tally 7.2 is available with free business insurance cover worth Rs 5 lakh to the customers buying and using the software between November 1 and December 15.

The company wants to issue more than 50,000 licences during the period, he added.
