Union Bank gets Golden Peacock award

UNION Bank of India has been awarded the "Golden Peacock National Training Award 2005'' in the category of `training provider and employer' by the Institute of Directors, New Delhi.

The Chairman and Managing Director of the bank, Mr Cherian Varghese, received the award from the Union Minister for Human Resource and Development, Mr Arjun Singh.

The bank's total business crossed Rs 1,15,000 crore on September 30, 2005 and 75 per cent of its business is under core banking solutions.
