Kalamassery railway overbridge inaugurated

KOCHI: The Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, inaugurated the Kalamassery Railway Overbridge, a joint venture of Indian Railways and the Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala (RBDCK).

The Chief Minister said on the occasion that a ministerial committee has been formed to study the pattern of the city considering the metro status of Kochi. Steps are being taken to complete the next phase of the Airport-Seaport Road, he said adding some more land is acquired for the purpose.

He pointed out that development projects like roads and bridges had to be completed in a time bound manner. The PWD, under which the RBDCK is functioning has performed well within the government's deadline, he said.

The PWD Minister, Mr M.K. Munneer, said on the occasion that the RBDCK has already completed nine of its total 20 projects. Some five more bridges will be completed by March next year, he added.
