Mumbai , Sept 28

THE strike called by a section of employees of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Thursday is unlikely to affect Air India operations.

The carrier has announced that it will operate flights as per schedule.

It will operate 65 flights during the strike period from 7 a.m. on Thursday to 7 a.m. on Friday.

An official statement said that Air India has cancelled only two London terminators, one from Mumbai and the other from Delhi.

Passengers booked on these flights have been accommodated on other West-bound flights and have been informed accordingly.

Jet reschedules flight operations: Meanwhile, Jet Airways has rescheduled, combined, or curtailed some of its flights in view of the strike call.

According to an official statement, the airline has made arrangements to provide connectivity on its network except in the East.

The airline has cancelled all its flights to and from Kolkata and in the North-East sector.

Passengers can recheck the timings of their flights at the Jet Airways toll-free number 1600-22-55-22.

Alternatively, passengers booked on international flights can recheck their flight timings at 91-22-55-01-02-03.

Passengers booked on domestic flights can get updated flight details at call centres at Mumbai (022) 56986111; Delhi (011) 51641414; Bangalore (080) 25221929/25220688/25229873; Chennai (044) 28414141/22561818; and Kolkata (033) 22292227/2511 9894/25119895.

All passengers have been rebooked by Jet Airways offices and through their travel agents.

Further, passengers have the option of checking the status of their flights via SMS by typing `JET 9W' followed by the flight number. This can then be sent to 6388.

Jet Airways will operate its combined flights on Thursday as per the revised timings stated in the Annexure, an official statement said.
