Reliance Industries to shut down Jamnagar Refinery for maintenance

MUMBAI: Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) informed the stock exchanges on Tuesday that its Jamnagar refinery will go in for a planned maintenance shutdown of some of its units during the third quarter of 2005-06. The period of shutdown required to complete the maintenance work is expected to be about eight weeks.

RIL would be shutting down one of the two crude distillation units as well as a fluid catalytic cracker unit at the refinery.In a separate notice to the exchanges, RIL said that pursuant to the order of Bombay High Court, a meeting of its equity shareholders, secured creditors, and unsecured creditors will be held on October 21 for considering the scheme of arrangement between the company, Reliance Energy Ventures Ltd, Global Fuel Management Services Ltd, Reliance Capital Ventures Ltd, and Reliance Communications Ventures Ltd and their respective shareholders and creditors.
