A vendor carrying a load of coconut in the outskirts of Kolkata. Prices of coconut oil have crashed by over Rs 2,000 a quintal on fall in demand and competition from other oils. Growers have found little relief selling tender coconuts too, since the current rains have dampened its demand. Hope, however, exists in the form of promoting tender coconut as health drink.
