New Delhi , July 27

THE state-owned Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) today said that its net profit for the quarter ended June 30 rose by 44 per cent.

The company's net profit rose to Rs 3,318 crore for the quarter ended June 30 compared to Rs 2,308.20 crore in the same period previous year.

Turnover of the oil major for the quarter ended June 30 stood at Rs 10,953.59 crore, as compared to Rs 10,386.1 crore during the same quarter of the previous year. A statement issued by ONGC attributed the increase in turnover to higher price realisation for crude oil, natural gas and naphtha.

The turnover also included a maiden contribution of Rs 2.54 crore realised through ONGC's 1st RelaxTop outlet at Mangalore, opened in March this year.
