Cochin Shipyard official retires

KOCHI: Mr P.D. Mathew, Director (Finance) with the Cochin Shipyard Ltd, retired from service on Thursday .

A statement issued here has said that the financial strategies adopted by Mr Mathew helped in turning around the loss-making Cochin Shipyard into a profit- making organisation. These years witnessed Cochin Shipyard wiping off its accumulated losses, declaring dividend for the first time, diversifying into export market for shipbuilding and attaining full capacity utilisation.
