HYDERABAD: The employees of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will go on indefinite strike from July 4.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of employees has announced its decision after the talks with the management failed on Monday.

Mr M.V. Krishna Rao, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of RTC, appealed to the staff not to go ahead with the strike call. The corporation would lose Rs 10 crore a day if the staff went on strike. "It will further put burden on the corporation," he said.

The talks between the staff and the management were held in the presence of Mr K.H. Mukund Rao, Joint Commissioner for Labour.

The JAC consisted of Transport Mazdoor Sangh (TMS), National Mazdoor Union, Employees Union and Staff and Workers Federation.

The employees had been demanding that the Government should reimburse concessions given by it to various sections.
