Advisory services for small, medium enterprises wanting to enter US

M. Somasekhar

Hyderabad , May 10

IT'S now `India Calling' for Indian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) intent on tapping the potential markets in the US.

A US-based business advisory services company named The Build Operate Transfer (BOT), says it can offer a single window opportunity to companies to set up operations in the US.

On the other side, BOT will also help US companies to set up captive offshore facilities to building subsidiaries in India, with the least risk, claims Mr Hari Rao, the Chief of BOT.

In the US, BOT is targeting the more than 15,000 small and medium enterprises in the US, which have turnovers ranging between $50 million to $250 million, to offer this model. The potential areas that would be targeted are software, clinical research, drug discovery, IP related, healthcare, creative services and textiles, he told Business Line.

A typical example of its enterprise is the Physician Support systems, a US captive healthcare facility in New Delhi. BOT helped the enterprise in evolving into a strong offshore centre, Mr Rao said.

What the company is offering is a cost competitive consultancy for SMEs to study the potential market, set up operations and compete in the US and vice-versa, by providing the necessary expertise and services, he said.

The BOT Group helps SMEs in US to build Indian subsidiaries through specific consulting services. It manages and operates it until stabilisation and then transfers ownership, in a span of 24-36 months. Headquartered in Miami, Florida, BOT has set up offices in Hyderabad and New Delhi in India.
