Mumbai , April 23 INDIAN Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (IPCL) on Saturday told the BSE that Mr Anil Ambani ceased to be a director of the company with effect from January 20, 2005. The board of directors of IPCL, which met on January 20, had noted Mr Ambani's resignation as Vice-Chairman and Director.In a letter to the BSE on Saturday, in response to a letter from the stock exchange seeking clarification on the resignation of Mr Ambani, IPCL said that the resignation had already been intimated in a letter dated January 20 to the stock exchange. "You are requested to note that we have by the above letter, informed the stock exchange of the decision of the Board of Directors of the company at the meeting held on January 20. The resignation tendered by Shri Anil D. Ambani having been considered by the board, he ceases to be a director on the board of the company," the letter from IPCL said. Further, it has been clarified that the company had filed the requisite forms notifying the resignation of Mr Ambani to the Registrar of Companies, Gujarat, at Ahmedabad. The letter from IPCL that comes by way of a reply by the Deputy Company Secretary, Ms Sashikala Rao, to the Department of Corporate Services, BSE, lists the names of 11 directors of the company and excludes Mr Anil Ambani's name.
