VUDA plans shopping malls

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) has prepared plans to construct modern shopping and office complexes here and at Vizianagaram at a cost of Rs 41.5 crore, according to Mr D. Varaprasad, Vice-Chairman.

He said here in a statement that the complexes would come up at Siripuram Junction, Nehrunagar, Seethammadhara, MVP Colony, Balaji Complex, Gollalapalem and Madhurawada. One would be constructed at Vizianagaram.

He said VUDA had also prepared plans to construct nine complexes in the city to provide all household goods (of reputed brands) under one roof. They would be constructed on BOT basis and the total cost would be Rs 17 crore.

Roughly, 1,000 youths may get employment in these projects, he added.
