THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Service Tax assessees have been directed to pay up their tax for the month/quarter ending March, 2005 latest by March 31.

An official spokesman quoted Mr S. Sivadasan, Deputy Commissioner, Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Central Excise, Thiruvananthapuram, as saying that those who have been paying up monthly tax, should pay up tax for the month of February on or before March 25 and that for the month of March, by March 31.

Those who have been paying up on a quarterly basis should make the payment for the last quarter of the financial year 2004-2005 (January to March) on March 31. Any lapse in this regard will invite penal provisions, including interest.
