Airlines Marketing - Promotions & Offers Cathay to offer 30 pc cut in fares to US, UK, Australia Tunia Cherian George
Mumbai , Feb. 24 KEEPING an eye on the approaching holiday season, Cathay Pacific will soon come out with an advanced purchase scheme for travel to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in the coming summer season. The Hong Kong-based airline will offer a 30 per cent discount on tickets booked to these destinations between March 1 and March 31. The offer, to open on March 1, will be valid for outbound travel undertaken by May 15, while the return journey can be undertaken during the validity period of the ticket. According to Mr Jason Philip, Marketing and Sales Manager, Cathay Pacific, for India, Nepal and Bangladesh, this is not the first time that the airline has come out with promotional offers but the current deal is different as it covers a number of destinations. The deal is aimed at families travelling during the school holiday period, he said. Cathay Pacific has added three flights each to Mumbai and Delhi under the Government's limited open sky policy, taking its frequency to a flight-a-day from both cities.
Emirates special offers: The Dubai-based airline has also announced special fares on all classes of travel to Europe and the US (New York) with free stopover at Dubai. According to an official statement, economy class fares to New York start at Rs 38,000 from Mumbai and Rs 45,200 from Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi and Chennai, and include free stopover at Dubai. While economy class passengers will be put up at the Millennium Hotel, first and business class passengers can avail themselves of a free stay at the Le Meridien. The package includes airport transfer and is valid for travel up to and including March 31.
