Mergers & Acquisitions HCL Tech acquires call centre in Ireland Our Bureau
New Delhi , Feb. 24 HCL Technologies today announced the acquisition of assets of former AnswerCall Direct Contact centre in Armagh, Northern Ireland. "In a £3.9-million deal, HCL Technologies, through its subsidiary in Northern Ireland, HCL Technologies BPO Service (NI) Ltd, acquired the assets and business of AnswerCall Direct Ltd, from receivers PricewaterhouseCoopers," said a company statement. This establishes HCL's position as the single largest outsourced contact/BPO centre operation in Ireland, it added. The acquisition adds another 190 professionals to the company's Ireland team, and "translates into an enhanced workforce of 1,800 people," said the company. The acquisition strengthens the company's expertise in domains including media and transportation, thus expanding HCL's expertise into newer areas of functioning.
