Bangalore , Feb. 8

AIRBUS plans to set up a training centre for pilots and other staff in India.

The Regional Press Manager of Airbus, Mr David Velupillai, told newspersons here on Tuesday that the proposal was in the initial stages.

He said Bangalore was one of the locations that are being considered for setting up the training centre.

Mr Velupillai said the Bangalore-based VidyaCom Technologies has been chosen to provide engineering services and illustrations for the double-decker A380.

The work involves creating illustrations and drawings that go into various A380 technical manuals. This work will be performed at VidyaCom's development centre in India through its nodal technical office in Toulouse.

VidyaCom will also be involved in the simulation and structural dynamics of part of the Airbus A380 airframe, catering to Airbus Espana in Madrid. VidyaCom's role includes finite-element stress analysis and involves a small team of its staff based in Spain, as well as personnel in India.
