Hyderabad , Feb. 7

THE Centre has agreed to do justice to Andhra Pradesh in the next Railway Budget by focusing on projects in the State. The Minister of State for Railways, Mr R. Velu, has assured the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, that the State's appeals would be considered in the upcoming budget.

In a meeting on Monday, Dr Reddy complained to the Union Minister that the State had been given a raw deal. "The State was subjected to gross injustice in the last budget in regard to laying new trains, railway lines and projects," he is believe to have pointed out.

He said meagre allocations had led to delay in execution of seven new lines and asked the Minister to include these in the next budget, according to a government press release.
