Events `Stonemart 2005' to open on Jan 28 Our Bureau
New Delhi , Jan. 24 THE third India `Stonemart 2005' opens on January 28 at Jaipur. Stonemart 2005, the super market of stones and stone products is a fair organised by the Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS), with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as the co-organiser. The Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation are the principal sponsors of the event, while R.K. Marble Group will be the fair sponsor. According to FICCI, the fair will provide an insight to the numerous varieties of stones available in India in general and Rajasthan in particular. Further, Stonemart will have more than 250 exhibitors, which include most of the major stone companies from India. For the first time the fair has around 15 per cent international participation. Turkey is participating for the first time with a country pavilion. Besides, Turkey, exhibitors shall also be present from China, Egypt, Palestine, Italy, Germany, the UK, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. The fair would showcase the Indian stone industry in its total resources, capacity, and the technological advancements in the segment. It would also see the launch of newer products and technologies. To coincide with the fair an international buyer and seller meet is also being organised from January 29. The meet would provide an opportunity to meet prospective buyers and sellers. Various Ministries of the Government of India, Government of Rajasthan, IMM Carrara S.p.A of Italy, Indo German Export Promotion Project, Federation of Mining Association of Rajasthan, and Federation of Indian Mineral Industries are supporting the Stonemart.
