Kochi Jan. 17

WITH an aim to create awareness among the industry on the immense opportunity for trade with Switzerland, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Kerala, is organising a seminar on `Success strategies for European Market - A Swiss perspective' on Saturday in Kochi.

Mr Bernard Sougual, Minister of Economy, State for Neuchatel and Switzerland, Mr Francis Sermet, Managing Director, Development Economic Western Switzerland, and Mr Ravi Chaudhry, Chairman, Cemex Consulting Group, will be making presentations at the seminar, a press release issued here has said.

Development Economic Western Switzerland (DEWS), comprises Cantons of Vaud, Valais and Neuchatel, which has launched a significant initiative to assist progressive international companies in setting up a pan-European base to cater to their global operations.

This French speaking part of Switzerland, offers an ideal, low-cost, tax-effective location for setting up global trading and holding companies, contract manufacturing companies, IPR holding companies, software and biotech marketing and servicing companies.

For Indian companies, DEWS offers comprehensive services, free-of-cost.

The one-stop service package includes company registration, business premises location and leasing, work and residence permits, tax exemption rulings - which are binding forever, introduction to banks, Government authorities, and potential clients, etc.

In addition to all these, the release said that low corporate tax rates varying from 0 per cent to 10 per cent and low operating costs, have been major attractions for investors.
