New Delhi , Nov. 20 HOMEOPATHIC medicine manufacturer SBL Ltd has chalked out expansion plans that include foraying into developed markets and promoting personal care products. The company targets revenues of Rs 400 crore by 2010, up from the present Rs 35 crore. Mr Rajneesh Chandan, Head of Marketing, told Business Line, "We have recently bagged our first export order after the Sri Lankan Government decided to purchase medicines from the company. We will also look at manufacturing options in the country." The company is not only looking at other neighbouring countries such as Pakistan, but is already present in the Gulf region. It will also enter the developed markets of the US, the UK, Europe and Australia. "Currently there are very few companies like Schwabe of Germany or Boiron of France. We will expand in all geographies across all therapeutic segments," said Mr Chandan. The company has grown at 32-33 per cent last year and aims to touch Rs 400 crore by 2010. The industry has been growing at about 15 per cent. SBL is also planning to use the mass media to promote its cosmetic range of products. It has products in the toothpastes, hair oils, shampoos, skin-care and eye-care categories. Some of these products are not pure homeopathic ones, but are herbal-based "For the first time, we will be using television to promote these products," he added. In order to meet with the growing demands, the company is expected to increase its production capacities at its Jaipur and Sikkim plants by 25 per cent. Besides these two plants, it also has another facility at Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh, which was set up in collaboration with the French Laboratories Boiron of Lyon.
