Nabard aid for Perambalur

MADURAI: A sum of Rs 69.90 crore will be spent on the improvement of infrastructure facilities in rural areas in Perambalur district.

To be executed under the `Rural Infrastructure Development Scheme' of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard), the works involve strengthening and widening of 130 rural roads to a distance of 530 km at an outlay of Rs 45.51 crore, construction of 36 bridges at a cost Rs 19.40 crore, construction of additional class rooms in 13 schools at a sum of Rs 3.47 crore and construction of health sub-centres at an outlay of Rs 1.11 crore. While Nabard has sanctioned Rs 62.27 crore, the State Government has contributed Rs 7.63 crore, the sources said.
