Business idea contest

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Oct. 26

AIMED at encouraging the rural youth in the State to come up with creative and viable business ideas that could be converted into successful dynamic micro-enterprises, Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST) is organising a contest called `Best Business Idea Contest' for the underprivileged young rural entrepreneurs.

Announcing this at press conference here on Tuesday, the BYST Founding Trustee and Executive Vice-President, Ms Lakshmi V. Venkatesan, said the contest would give a boost to the entrepreneurial culture in rural areas of Andhra Pradesh and would also promote new business ideas among the youth.

BYST is a non-profit organisation collectively being supported by the Indian business community and works on a `Mentor on a one-to-one basis', wherein leading business personalities extend their support in converting the business ideas into successful enterprises.

Apart from giving away cash prizes for the best three business ideas in the current contest, BYST would also consider extending financial assistance to some of the ideas to convert them into successful enterprises.

To begin with, the contest is being extended to the rural youth in the age group of 18 years to 35 years in the three districts of Rangareddy, Cuddapah and Srikakulam.

According to Ms Lakshmi Venkatesan, business idea forms would be distributed among the aspiring young rural entrepreneurs and the best idea that is viable would be chosen for the contest.
