Mr Jack Trout, President, Trout & Partners Ltd, at a conference in Bangalore on Wednesday.— V. Sreenivasa Murthuy

Bangalore , Sept. 29

MR Jack Trout, an authority on marketing strategy and the President of Trout & Partners Ltd, said India should keep in mind that "the global economy does not like religious problems and political uncertainty" as the country craved for faster economic growth to feed its population of over one billion.

Mr Trout, who introduced the concept of `positioning' in 1980, was here to address a summit of over 400 corporate executives.

It was matters such as infrastructure and the rule of law that caught the attention of the global economy and not corruption, said Mr Trout, the author of several best selling books.

Replying to queries on outsourcing linked job loss in the US, Mr Trout said it was not a matter of concern as more jobs were lost due to bad strategies such as fudging accounts by American corporations in the recent past.

Mr Trout will address the audience here on Thursday on how `strategy is all about making right decisions in a business context.' Good strategy, he said, helps tackle competition in a global economy.
