Announcements Marketing - New Products & Services German co launches eco-friendly bio cleaner for factory machines R.Y. Narayanan
Coimbatore , Sept. 3 AN environment and user-friendly way to clean factory machines, using a water-based cleaner, has been launched here by a German-based manufacturer which also may look at the possibility of manufacturing it in India itself once the demand picks up. Apart from the fact that it is non-polluting, the product is also cost-effective, as the cleaner renews itself on the basis of natural biological process and the same liquid can be used over and over again, thus saving on replacement cost. The German company, Chemie und Biotechnologie GmbH, has tied up with the Coimbatore-based Regent Ecotech Pvt Ltd to launch the cleaning machine and the liquid in India. Speaking to Business Line here on Thursday, Mr Martin Feindt, Vice-President-Export of the German company, said Bio-Circle is an environment and user-friendly product and is a substitute for the conventional cleaning solutions like solvents and thinners. The oil, cutter coolants, grease, etc., are cleaned off the parts with the Bio-Circle solution similar to the conventional cleaning practice and together with the solution, the impurities drain into the tank of the device. He said Bio-Circle used a special water-based cleaning medium that contains natural micro-organisms that bio-cultures and breaks down the oil. Hence, the same cleaning medium could be reused for up to two years, depending on the usage. Because of the constant breakdown of the oil, the liquid stays clean. Mr G. Dilip Kumar, Vice-President-Sales, Regent Ecotech, said since the oil served as a nutrient for the bacterial growth, they multiply in the cultures and give even more oil as the machine is working. The machine is a zero-discharge one and is totally environment-friendly, unlike the conventional cleaning process where the effluent has to be let out after chemical treatment. Mr Martin said Bio-Circle could be used in any industry where manual parts' cleaning is required such as engineering, auto component, etc. The cleaning solution is colour and odour-free and does not leave any trace of it on the machinery. There are no side effects in using Bio-Circle, he claimed. He said the company is launching the product for the first time in the country in Coimbatore. He said his company has a two-decade experience in the product line and has a presence in the European Union, the US, Canada and Brazil markets. Mr Dilip Kumar said in the first year, the company hopes to sell 20-30 machines and subsequently work for achieving a sales figure of around 50 machines a year. Each machine costs around Rs 3 lakh-5 lakh. Mr Vikram Sathyanathan, Director, Regent Ecotech, said the company has plans to launch the machines in Chennai and Pune next month.
