Our Bureau

Bangalore , Aug. 31

CAUVERY Electrodes has opened a new factory to manufacture mild steel copper coated wires.

The Cauvery Electrodes Managing Director, Mr Peeyush Shukla, told newspersons that the new unit will cater to the demand from large and medium-scale industries. The unit has been set up at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore. The capacity utilisation of the new unit is 72 tonnes. The price ranges between Rs 65 and Rs 72 per kg depending on the size of the wire.

He said the customers will not be passed on the benefit of reduction in steel prices announced recently because the transportation costs have gone up.

Mr Shukla said the turnover of the company is expected to more than double to around Rs 3.5 crore in 2004-05.
