MUMBAI: Hikal Ltd has entered into a long-term arrangement with Bayer CropScience AG to manufacture and supply key agrochemical intermediates.

Hikal has set up a new facility at Mahad in Maharashtra to manufacture these products. Dr Wolfgang Welter, member of the board and Head of Industrial Operations of Bayer CropScience, recently inaugurated this facility.

"The long-term arrangement with Bayer confirms Hikal as the partner of choice for leading global life science companies,'' the company said in a release quoting Mr Jai Hiremath, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Hikal.

The manufacturing facility at Mahad uses Ethernet-based technology for process control automation using fibre optics transmission.
