Truckers' strike keeps rubber prices steady

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , Aug. 26

SPOT rubber prices ruled steady as the truckers' strike continued to cast its shadow over the trading floors.

Major manufacturers were unwilling to purchase rubber but the market ignored the buyer resistance due to low availability of the raw material.

In rubber futures, September delivery was quoted at Rs 54.96 (Rs 54.46), October delivery at Rs 53.01 (Rs 52.80), November delivery at Rs 52.49 (Rs 52.39) and December delivery at Rs 52.20 (Rs 52.05) per kg for RSS 4.

The Thursday spot market rates per kg were as follows: RSS 4 Rs 54.00 (Rs 54.00); RSS 5 Rs 51.00 (Rs 51.00); ungraded Rs 49.25 (Rs 49.25); ISNR 20 Rs 49.50 (Rs 49.50); latex 60% Rs 37.50 (Rs 37.50).
