Manipur protests

This is with reference to "Anguish of an alienated people" (Business Line, August 4). Manipur has always been hidden from public eye, and it is time the Centre took a closer look at the troubled situation in that State.

It is sad that in a region of great natural beauty, the citizens cannot still lead a free and peaceful life. The bold protests by the women of Manipur should be recognised as a wake-up call to the Centre to act now.
