New Delhi , June 8 THE boards of the various Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will meet during June 14-23 to arrive at a possible solution on the controversial fee cut issue. The directors of the six IIMs on Tuesday met the Education Secretary, Mr S.C. Tripathy, to carry forward their joint approach for a common and unified fee structure. Sources close to the proceedings said there could be an uniform fee structure. But IIMs are unlikely to have any fixed quota for the economically under-privileged sections of the society. There would be a graded fee structure and there is a possibility that they would waive the fee for some sections of the society. The IIM directors, however, were tight-lipped after the 90-minute meeting. They declined to divulge any details about the minutes of the meeting or comment on the quantum of fees they had agreed upon or the need-based scholarship for which they had unanimously adopted a resolution on Sunday. "The process is on and things are moving positively," said the Director, IIM-Ahmedabad, Mr Bakul Dholakia. The boards of IIM-Ahmedabad and IIM-Kozhikode would meet on June 19; that of IIM-Kolkata on June 18, whereas the IIM-Indore board will meet on June 14. The board meeting of IIM-Lucknow would be held on June 23 while that of IIM-Bangalore on June 21.
