SRF gets process patent

NEW DELHI: SRF Ltd has been granted a patent by the US Patent & Trademark Office for a ``process for the production of Difluoromethane".

Sources said difluoromethane, which is an ozone-friendly refrigerant gas, is one of the constituents of the blend (gas) that can replace Freon-22. The process patent is usually valid for 20 years from the date of application for the patent.
