Human Resources `Expatriates seeking jobs in ITES companies' Our Bureau
Bangalore , Jan. 19 RECRUITMENT agencies are now faced with enquiries for jobs from expatriates from different countries, although exact data about the proportion of foreigners to Indians in search of engagement in the growing information technology enabled services (ITES) establishments was not known. While the reverse flow of job seekers was still a trickle, executive recruitment firms saw this trend as a trigger for increasing the business potential in the Rs 100-crore recruitment industry. Expatriates seeking jobs in the ITES and qualified technology experts in related and other industry did not see any conflict in salaries prevalent in India, said Mr Kris Lakshmikanth, Founder CEO& Managing Director of The Head Hunters (India) Pvt. Ltd adding that since the cost of living in India was slightly less than several international cities, Indian salaries have not discouraged job seekers. Mr Lakshmikanth, who was interacting with mediapersons here after announcing the holding of the first National Recruitment Conclave on February 21 here, said with India projecting a higher growth rate and fast becoming a hub for a variety of economic activities, interest in India was growing among the foreign job seekers. Moreover, the drying up of jobs in those countries which were shifting their ITES business also triggered the expatriates seeking opening here. On the Recruitment Conclave, Mr Lakshmikanth, organising chairman of the Executive Recruiters Association, said the forthcoming conclave was the first effort in the country to assess the changing role of recruitment agencies. It will also help in understanding the needs of the companies confronted with large-scale attrition and problems of talent management within the existing human resource in the midst of competitive environment. ERA is a representative body of the executive recruitment companies in India.
