Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Nov. 23

THE Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APTransco) has decided to implement Citizen's Charter in rural areas. The Charter envisages early settlement of consumer grievances, according to APTransco Chairperson and Managing Director, Ms Rachel Chatterjee.

Ms Chatterjee stated that APTransco would soon constitute special teams consisting of electricity engineers in the rural areas to ensure the implementation of the Citizen's Charter in villages. There would also be a special focus on the continuation of the present programme of holding Vidyut Adalats every Monday at mandal level for on-the-spot rectification of errors in billing and other related complaints.

In a press release here on Sunday, she said that power utilities in the State, with the help of UK-based information technology experts, have recently developed a mechanism based on IT-reliability indicators to effectively monitor interruptions in power supply. The development of System Average Interruption Duration Index, Customer Average Interruption Duration Index and System Average Interruption Frequency Index had helped the utilities to drastically reduce the interruptions in power supply.
