KOCHI: The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has received a grant of Rs 47 lakh from the departments of Defence and Science and Technology for developing oxide phosphor thin films for electroluminescent devices.

Of the total grant, Rs 18.8-lakh has come from the Department of Science and Technology and Rs 28 lakh from the Defence Department, a university release said. The DRDO funds will go into a collaborative project between the Regional Research Laboratory, Thiruvananthapuram, and the Department of Physics, CUSAT, for the development of transparent conducting electrode material for ferroelectric memory and display devices.
