KOCHI: ITC Foods, one of the leading players in the branded staple foods segment, introduced its Aashirvaad salt in the Kerala market here on Tuesday.

This was the second product offering from ITC Foods-Staples Business within a span of 10 months under the brand name Aashirvaad. The launch of salt was in tune with the company's strategic direction to develop new product lines by synergising its proven competencies, Mr Anil Kumar, Branch Manager of ITC Foods, Ernakulam, said at a press conference.

Priced at Rs 7.50 per kg, the product would be available across 25,000 retail outlets in the State in an attractive pouch pack. The launch in Ernakulam marked the first phase of rollout plans for the Kerala markets, he said and added that the company was planning to strengthen the distribution network in the State with the backing of advertisements and TV commercials.
