Exult bullish on India

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: Exult Inc, an US-based IT outsourcing and third party operations firm, plans to ramp up its Indian operations by increasing its headcount to about 2,000 employees over the next couple of years.

The company - which focuses on processing financial transactions, accounts and payment services - started its India operations in May this year by setting up a captive centre in Mumbai and has some 148 people as of now, according to the President and CEO, Mr Kevin M. Campbell.

Mr Campbell said that the company was hiring people every week and expected to have about 300 people by the end of this quarter. "We are very bullish on India," Mr Campbell said, adding that over the next four years, several thousand people would be working for Exult in the country.

However, Mr Campbell refused to quantify the investment in Indian operations, only stating that it would be several million dollars.

Exult also planned to enhance its relationship with Hexaware and HCL Technologies, which had already taken up IT outsourcing operations for the company, Mr Campbell said.
