HYDERABAD, June 11

CIDEX, a joint venture of Messe Dusseldorf and KolnMesse International would hold three expos — automation, pharma and biotech — simultaneously in Hyderabad between September 24 and 27.

The expos will be held at the Hitex exhibition facility at Madhapur on the city outskirts.

The automation fair, INTERKAMA India, is an offshoot of INTERKAMA, a popular fair in Duesseldorf in Germany held every four years. "It will showcase products and solutions for industrial automation, process and manufacturing automation and integrated infotech solutions," Mr Norbert M. Schmidt, the Managing Director of the trade fairs firm, said.

Briefing newspersons about the upcoming events, he said ISA (Instrumentation Systems and Automation Society) and the Boston-based ARC Advisory Group are associated with INTERKAMA India.

The second expo, Biotech India International 2003 would offer a "platform for the players in the segment to come together and witness the structures and restructures that are taking place in the field," he said.

The Pharma India 2003, which has the backing of Indian Drug Manufacturers Association, aims at bringing about a synergy between the pharma and biotechnology industries. The event, according to him, would showcase latest developments, products and innovations. The expos will be complemented by conferences where industry experts would discuss the opportunities, trends and challenges in the respective fields.
