Morepen files patent for asthma drug

NEW DELHI, June 10

MOREPEN Laboratories Ltd has filed an international process patent for manufacturing Montelukast sodium, an asthma drug.

According to an official communiqué, Montelukast is a high-value blockbuster anti-asthmatic prescribed as a single daily doze with an added use in children.

This is the seventh international patent filed by Morepen in less than two years and the company is expected to soon file a drug master file for the compound.
