Intel President to visit India

BANGALORE, June 4

MR Paul S. Otellini, President and Chief Operating Officer of Intel Corporation, will visit India from June 9 to 10 to discuss India's potential role in the global information technology (IT) and communications economy.

According to a company press release, Mr Otellini will meet with Government, industry and business leaders to explore strategies which will help India continue to benefit from the economic and productivity advantages of widespread IT deployment. He is to talk in Mumbai about the need for India to strengthen its competence in value-added IT services and hardware design.

He will also stress on the benefits of adopting wireless technology and its growing significance for global business.

According to the release, Mr Otellini will visit the Intel India Development Centre campus, which will house some of Intel's designers.
