Off-shore Development AstroWix to set up office in Hyderabad V. Rishi Kumar
HYDERABAD, May 26 ASTROWIX Corporation, a California-based project management solutions provider, is in the process of establishing several chapters in India including an office in Hyderabad to address enterprise programme management solutions and to extend consulting, implementation and support services. The President of AstroWix Corporation, Mr Upendra Giri, who is also the President of the US-based Project Management Institute (PMI), told Business Line that the company interfaced with its clients to provide a seamless link for their offices worldwide. The corporation is in the process of opening an office in Hyderabad. AstroWix has partnered with two big players Microsoft and SciForma to provide project management tools and is also a registered education provider with the Project Management Institute. "We specialise in providing fully customisable on-site project management training, implementation and rollout of project management tools and technology in order to ensure that businesses fully realise the benefits of project management solutions which help optimise resources," Mr Giri said. PMI is a non-profit professional organisation with hundreds of chapters. The company has set up a lab at the Pearl City chapter. This is being extended with chapters in north India and other centres including Bangalore. It has teamed up with Garware for the western region. Having represented Microsoft in several countries on the enterprise project management-related issues, Mr Giri tours educating audiences globally about the importance of specialised skills and tools to optimise capacities. Often people are good at one skill, be it technical or coding. Rarely they combine management skill with this to make the best out of these tools. All of AstroWix's training and solution offerings are certified by the PMI. "Our training programme entitles the participants to PMI's professional development units. It has become mandatory for anyone interested in appearing for PMP certification that he or she must have gone through classroom training approved by the PMI," Mr Giri said.
